Visitor Services Co-ordinator
Minimum of 24 hours (additional hours negotiable)
Wells Cathedral is located in the Medieval City of Wells. Built between 1175 and 1490, our Cathedral has been described as “the most poetic of the English Cathedrals”. We welcome visitors every day of the year to experience this wonderful and holy place.
We are seeking a Visitor Services Coordinator to join our Retail & Visitor Services team. You will be responsible for providing support and facilitating key functions that contribute to the team’s success including:
- Managing the end-to-end group booking process
- Administering the annual pass
- Monitoring the online bookings for tickets and tours
- Responding to customer enquiries
- Liaising with our system provider

Volunteer Chaplains Needed!
Do you like meeting and helping new people? Could you offer one or two days a month?
Our Duty Chaplains, Licenced Readers and ordained members of the clergy are available to Cathedral visitors for pastoral counselling or conversation. They conduct short prayers at the clock on the hour and, if ordained, celebrate Holy Communion at 12.25pm on Tuesdays.
Duties are between 10am to 4pm on a rota basis throughout the Visitor Season (currently March-October) and a lunch voucher is provided.

Café Supervisor/General Assistant
Average of 20 hours per week. Competitive Salary
Wells Cathedral is looking for a General Assistant to join our busy team, undertaking a variety of tasks whilst delivering excellent customer service. Part of the role will involve acting up for specific shifts as Café Supervisor where you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the day to day operation of the Café to the highest possible standards.
You will be a reliable, self-starter, able to work effectively as part of a busy team. You will have good organisational skills, able to handle busy service periods and should be able to anticipate problems before they occur. You will be responsible for the supervision of staff when you are working a shift as Café Supervisor therefore previous experience of managing staff is essential.

Matthew Owens, Organist & Master of the Choristers, is always pleased to hear from parents of prospective choristers and we are particularly looking for children in current school years 3 to 5 to start in September 2017. We will be holding pre-auditions in November and December 2016 in advance of the main auditions in January.
