Café Supervisor/General Assistant
Average of 20 hours per week. Competitive Salary
Wells Cathedral is looking for a General Assistant to join our busy team, undertaking a variety of tasks whilst delivering excellent customer service. Part of the role will involve acting up for specific shifts as Café Supervisor where you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the day to day operation of the Café to the highest possible standards.
You will be a reliable, self-starter, able to work effectively as part of a busy team. You will have good organisational skills, able to handle busy service periods and should be able to anticipate problems before they occur. You will be responsible for the supervision of staff when you are working a shift as Café Supervisor therefore previous experience of managing staff is essential.

Salary: £9,000 per annum based on 14 hours a week
Wells Cathedral is seeking to recruit an experienced archivist, initially on an 18 month fixed-term contract.
The archivist will be responsible for undertaking the full range of professional duties connected with the day-to-day care and access of the collections. Project duties include reviewing and updating the archives policies, such as retention and disposal schedules and preparing data in Excel from the existing catalogues for migration into cataloguing software in the future.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced archivist used to dealing with large collections, and preferably have experience of working with the public and a commitment to public engagement.

Visitor Services Assistant
4 hours per week, normally Sundays

We are recruiting for a Visitor Services Assistant to join our Retail & Visitor Services team working in both our retail outlets and visitor entry/donation desk. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to visitors and acting as an ambassador for the Cathedral.

We will be holding pre-auditions in November and December 2016 in advance of the main auditions in January.
