Local children

We hope that all local children will visit the Cathedral as part of their education and heritage.

To that end new and free events which are open to all are taking place.

Recent activities with local children have included a Christmas art exhibition on the the theme of ‘the Crib’. Over 150 drawings and collages depicting the crib scene were submitted and one winner and three runners’ up were presented with their prizes by the Dean at the Crib Service on Christmas Eve. This very informal service is a great introduction for children and young families who are thinking of coming to the Cathedral for the first time at this very special time of year.

Other annual activities include a special Children’s Tour the Cathedral, which this year takes place on Saturday 5 March from 10.00am-11.00am. There is no charge and need to book – just turn up with a responsible adult!
