At
Wells Cathedral we believe that worship and study, prayer
and learning are necessary to each other. Cathedrals
were originally places of sacred learning. Indeed most
of them, including Wells, have ancient libraries, where
the creative relationship between faith and study was
worked out in each generation.
Education is key in our mission, a place where the Christian
faith is practiced, preached, taught and interpreted.
The Cathedral is a valuable resource where the expression
of God's gift of creativity is encouraged.
Two tiers of educational activity operate:
1. Adult education - delivered through the Theology
in Wells programme.
2. Curriculum inspired programmes for school visits, and organised events for children's clubs and youth groups. |
