The
Cathedral Community is enhanced by the work and contribution
given by hundreds of volunteers. People are motivated
to help for numerous reasons to serve their Cathedral
Church and give something back or because
of a deep appreciation of the building and what it represents
or to meet people and become part of a wider social
network.
Over two hundred volunteers are directly involved in
the welcoming and care of visitors to the Cathedral.
Roles are wide ranging and include welcoming visitors
as they enter, guiding visitors on tours and stewarding
concerts.
Beyond the work with visitors, volunteers are involved
in diverse activities such as flower arranging, bell
ringing or singing in the Voluntary Choir.
All volunteers are part of the Guild of St. Andrew and
during the course of the year will be invited to information
meetings, sessions of interest and social occasions.
If you have some free time and working within the Cathedral
environment appeals to you, please contact the Visits
Co-ordinator for an informal chat about volunteering. |
