Refugee and Migration Day: Monday 10 October 2016
On Monday 10 October the Cathedral will be hosting two events investigating the issues around migration and refugees.
Morning Event: Sixth Form Conference
In the morning we will be hosting a Sixth Form Conference which will include a real life story from a young Afghan refugee, representatives from charities working in the field (British Red Cross and Christian Aid) and an academic overview from a member of the Migration Research Group at the University of Bristol. The half day conference will include speeches and workshops in smaller groups. The cost is £3.90 per pupil.

Afternoon Event : ‘Migration – The Next Move?’. Free event for adults
At 2.00pm in the Cathedral Nave a variety of speakers will be presenting a series of short talks including a representative from Somerset County Council who will be giving a brief summary of local projects.
Our event is followed by refreshments in the Cathedral Education Room, a ‘Question Time’ informal discussion and opportunities to explore how we might make a difference. This event will be chaired by Bishop Ruth Worsley.
Donations will be welcomed on the day to cover costs; we hope to have enough voluntary contributions to be able to make donations to related charity projects.
