Prebendary Dr Alan Kerbey OBE
Formerly a Senior Research Fellow at Oxford University and Lecturer in Biochemistry at Trinity College, Oxford, Alan has spent over 30 years working in the public and voluntary sectors at CEO and executive management level, and has held a number of non-executive directorships.
He was Director of Crusaders, the national Christian youth organisation, and Director of Development at both Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge and Monkton Combe School in Bath. More recently, he has worked as a consultant in the areas of fundraising, marketing, PR and communications, design and innovation, brand identity and business development for a number of NGOs including Watershed Entrepreneurs, Genesis Trust, Prior Park College, Bath, and Emmanuel College in Queensland, Australia. He is a member of the international Board of Send A Cow, and a consultant to SPCK.
Alan has developed an extensive world-wide network of contacts with senior business leaders and philanthopists, and has been a member of two Government working groups. He was elected a Fellow of Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge in 2000, and awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List in 2012 for services to medical research, education and young people.
Although Alan has spent most of his working life in other parts of the UK, South East Asia and Australia, he lived and went to school in Wells as a teenager. He is married with three grown up children and five grand-children.
