‘1066 – A Medieval Mosaic’ Exhibition
This exhibition is an absolute delight and not to be missed!
The Medieval Mosaic is a complete recreation of the Bayeux Tapestry handcrafted from 3 million tiny pieces of spring steel. The mosaic, created by Michael A. Linton, is 64m long, weighs 350kg and took 33years to complete. It is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest steel mosaic.
Admission to the exhibition in the South Cloister is free and it will be here until Thursday 31st May. Open daily from 10 am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday and 11am to 5pm Sunday with the creators on hand to answer any questions.
