Making a donation

English Cathedrals receive no regular funding from the Government or the Church of England towards maintenance, restoration and development work.

Here at Wells that means we have to raise £4,500 per day which we must do through our own endeavours and with the help of our visitors, congregation, supporters, The Friends of Wells Cathedral and grant making trusts.

How you can make a donation

There are a number of ways in which you can donate to support Wells Cathedral:

Donate Online – you can either make a one-off or a monthly donation to the Cathedral using your credit or debit card via our JustGiving Account which is available by following this link:

Standing Order – if you wish to make a regular donation please download and complete our Standing Order form and return to us at the address on the form:

Donate whilst visiting the Cathedral – you can give at one of our donation stations or use your debit/credit card via our Cathedral Shop.

Purchase an Annual Pass – for anyone wishing to make a donation to the Cathedral while enjoying fast-track access for 12 months via the Cathedral’s Donation Desk. More details here.

Are you a UK Tax Payer?

Don’t forget if you are a UK Tax Payer that you can also help us to claim gift aid on your donation which means an extra 25p for every pound that you donate.  JustGiving and Text Donations allow you to do this automatically but if you are visiting the Cathedral please remember to complete a gift aid envelope.
