This “most poetic of England’s cathedrals” is here for everyone, its doors open to all.
At Wells Cathedral we are working continuously to conserve, enhance and interpret this extraordinary building, so it may be enjoyed and enrich lives in this and in future generations. And we need your help.
English Cathedrals receive no regular funding from the Government or the Church of England towards maintenance, restoration and development work.
That means we must raise £4,500 per day through our own endeavours and with the vital help of our visitors, congregation, supporters, the Friends of Wells Cathedral and grant making trusts.
There are a number of ways you can donate to support Wells Cathedral.
Donate Online – you can make a one-off donation or arrange a monthly contribution to the Cathedral using your credit or debit card. You can also leave a message as to why you’ve donated, whether marking a wedding in the Cathedral, in recognition of a loved one or just as a thank you for an enjoyable visit. Gifts made through our Planned Giving scheme help to maintain and develop the work of the Cathedral. It allows you to give the same amount each week or month, with a regular payment standing order with your bank. Simply download and complete our Standing Order form and return it to us at the address on the form.
Donate while visiting the Cathedral – it’s easy to give with contactless debit/credit card as you arrive at the Cathedral’s entrance and you can make a donation at one of the locations inside the Cathedral.
Start fundraising with your own Just Giving page – if you’d like to raise money for Wells Cathedral through a challenge event or other activity you can create your own page with Just Giving.
Purchase an Annual Pass – for anyone wishing to make a donation to the Cathedral while enjoying fast-track access for 12 months via the Cathedral’s Donation Desk.
If you are a UK taxpayer you can boost your donation by 25p for every £1 you donate with Gift Aid, at no further cost to you.
Help us to claim gift aid on your donation if applicable by completing and returning the form below. JustGiving and Text Donations allow you to do this automatically and if you’re visiting the Cathedral please remember to complete a gift aid envelope.
