Prebendary Dr Alison Perham
Alison Perham has a background in the National Health Service initially as a General Practitioner in Dorset and subsequently as a specialist in Palliative Medicine in Norfolk, Leicestershire and Staffordshire. Her special interests are End of Life Care in Hospitals, Hospices and the Community and in moral and ethical decision making within medicine.
She has experience as a non-executive director, having been a trustee for ten years with the Cobalt Trust and is now also a trustee of St Margaret’s Hospice in Somerset.
Alison has long experience of cathedral life, having lived in the three cathedral cities of Norwich, Derby and Gloucester and in each of them has worshipped at the cathedral.
She was married to Michael (former Bishop of Gloucester) and has four grown-up daughters, two of whom were cathedral choristers. She is now a member of Wells Cathedral congregation.
