Be a Chorister for a Day

The Wells Cathedral ‘Be a Chorister for a Day’ event takes place each year on the second Saturday in Octobe. Children aged between 7 and 9 years old learn what it is like to be a Cathedral Chorister.

Up to forty five children can attend the event, which runs from 11am – 5.15pm. The day includes singing games, learning about the Cathedral and finding out what a Chorister really does. Lunch is provided, and at the end of the day the children sing Evensong with the Cathedral Choir. In the afternoon parents can take a tour of Wells Cathedral School if they wish, and have afternoon tea in historic Vicars’ Hall before the Evensong service.

Places are limited and the day is very popular.

If you are interested in the 2019 event, please contact the Cathedral Music Office via musicoffice@wellscathedral.uk.net.  If you can’t wait that long you may like to join Wells Cathedral Song Squad, for children aged 7-11, or Wells Cathedral Song Squad Minis, for children aged 5-6, which meet on Tuesday nights. Contact Tricia Rees-Jones via triciarj1@gmail.com for more details.
