Our annual Children’s Festival is a fun day for 4 to 11 year olds with loads of activities including worship, circus skills, crafts, music, animals, and fun! Everyone is welcome – come as a group or come as a family!
Places do need to be pre-booked and we will announce future dates and information here on our website. The event is organised by Wells Cathedral in partnership with the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
When term breaks up Wells Cathedral offers fun and creative workshops for children accompanied by their parents or guardians. All workshops run from 10.30am – 12.00 and 2.00 – 3.30pm. They are all held in the Education Room unless specified otherwise.
Donations are gratefully received to help cover the cost of materials. Some workshops may have a charge but this will be advertised.

We hope that all local children will visit the Cathedral as part of their education and heritage. There are a great number of free events for children that take place during the year.
Find details of forthcoming events for pre-school and school-aged children by visiting the What’s On section of our website.
Details of our popular ‘Be a Chorister For a Day’ event can also be found here.
The Crib Service is a very informal service on Christmas Eve. It is a great introduction for children and young families who are thinking of coming to the Cathedral for the first time at this very special season.
