We are now taking bookings for school visits to the Cathedral in 2021

Tours and activities for 3-5 year olds in Playgroups, Nursery Schools, and Reception and Year 1 classes.

Option 1 – Short Visit or Guided Tour

Tours with our Cathedral guides have been specifically designed for the younger visitor. These tours are tailored to suit your group and requirements and usually take about half an hour. Your tour can have a theme linked to a curriculum unit such as ‘Mega Structures’, a class project, or Cathedral links to a topic or story.

  • Link to a Bible Story (see below)


Option 2 – Programmed Day

We also offer bespoke day programmes designed for the Early Years. A package, typically consists of a short tour, story and activity, with the use of the secure Cathedral Education Room for bag storage, lunch and loos.

Sample package:

  • Welcome and settling
  • Story (David and Goliath, Daniel and the lions, Noah and the rainbow, St Andrew and the feeding of the 5,000)
  • Optional song
  • Break
  • Tour
  • See the famous clock in action
  • Lunch in the private Education Room
  • Craft, game, or other activity

Sunday 22nd May: The Cathedral will be holding a special service of Thanksgiving for the Platinum Jubilee at 3pm to which all are warmly invited. There will be restricted access to visitors from 1.30pm, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
