West Front scaffolding
Eagle-eyed visitors to Wells will see scaffolding on the Cathedral’s West Front over the next few weeks.
The scaffolding is part of a regular inspection programme the Cathedral makes of the whole building and will be erected for a four-week period to allow access for a historic building conservator to undertake a range of specialist non-invasive survey and analysis techniques to the Medieval statuary and surrounding masonry structure. The work has been funded by the Wells Cathedral Preservation Trust.
Pictures and updates will be available on the Cathedral’s website and social media channels whilst the scaffolding is up and work is on-going, and so anyone interested in learning more should watch this space!
