Description:A service of Sung Eucharist held in the Nave of Wells Cathedral. In term time this is sung by the Wells Cathedral Choir. All welcome. From 20 - 23 July the Bluecoat School choir is welcomed to Wells Cathedral to sing at the services. Membership of this four-part Choir is by audition and presently numbers about 70 pupils aged between 11 and 18. An important function of the choir is to offer support to school events and the local community. On Cathedral trips the tenor and bass lines are supplemented, using a small number of parents, teachers or friends of the school. Led by choirmaster Philip Formstone, for the past 40 years, the choir are regular visitors to Wells. Further afield, the choir has sung mass in Saltzburg Cathedral and St Mark's Basilica, Venice. Featuring in the film 'Nativity 2', as well as appearances on national radio and television, have offered choir members extra musical challenges. The choir won the title of BBC ‘Songs of Praise Senior School Choir of the Year 2008’.
