Monday 17th July - Tuesday 18th July
Description:Jesmaries Painters of Wells are again this year holding their exhibition in conjunction with Timsbury Art Group. Their combined works will be displayed in the South Cloister of Wells Cathedral from Saturday 15 July, running for two weeks until Saturday 29 July. Timsbury Art Group are a small ‘Self-Help’ group who enjoy meeting together weekly, helping and encouraging each other. They have put together a collection of paintings under the title of ‘All things Bright and Beautiful’ based on the rural surroundings and architecture of Wells and the Cathedral which are a continual source of inspiration throughout the changing seasons. Jesmarie Painters are a Wells based group, formerly known as Portway Painters who in latter years dedicated their name to the lady who founded the group in the 1970's, Jesmarie Roberts-Wray, herself a well respected local artist. She was inspirational to all standards of artists and in particular helping beginners produce some very attractive work. Unique and original pictures in a variety of subjects and media are for sale between 10 am and 5 pm daily at very affordable prices. The display is easily accessed by wheelchair and refreshments are available in the cafe upstairs.
