Cathedral Eucharist sung by Ex Collegio
Sunday 26th August
09:45 - 11:00
Description:A service of Sung Eucharist held in the Nave of Wells Cathedral. In term time this is sung by the Wells Cathedral Choir. All welcome. Ex Collegio was founded in 1981 by graduates from St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, who, as the college chapel choir, had first sung at Wells Cathedral in July 1979. Since then the choir, gathering recruits from other collegiate choirs, friends and from among its own offspring, has sung 361 services in 28 English and Welsh cathedrals, generally for a week each summer and for a weekend each winter. The choir has also given many concerts in aid of a variety of charities. Directed and led from its foundation by Timothy Venvell, formerly Organ Scholar at St Catharine’s and now Director of Music at the Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, Ex Collegio is accompanied on the organ by one of his former pupils, Richard Carr.
