Cathedral Eucharist with the premiere of Stuart Beer's 'An English Mass'

Date:
Sunday 24th February

Time:
09:45 - 11:00

Description:A service of Sung Eucharist held in the Nave of Wells Cathedral. In term time this is sung by the Wells Cathedral Choir. Today's service includes the premiere of Stuart Beer's 'An English Mass'. Stuart Beer is a long-time friend of Wells Cathedral Music Foundation. He originally sang here as a Vicar Choral many years ago and since then has held positions at St Paul’s Cathedral, Manchester Cathedral and Benenden School. In recent years the Cathedral choir has premiered several of Stuart’s highly regarded works, including The Reproaches and The Great Advent Antiphons. Stuart’s ‘An English Mass’ has been written in English for the Cathedral Choir, with organ accompaniment and using the Common Worship text. It is composed in Stuart's distinctive style, which delivers the text with warmth and clarity, while providing beautiful lines and gestures within in the music. All welcome!
