Evensong sung by Antiphon

Date:
Monday 27th May

Time:
17:15 - 18:15

Description:Choral Evensong is held in the Quire of Wells Cathedral and today is sung by Antiphon. ANTIPHON was founded in 2000 and is now established and recognised as the leading chamber choir in the Tyne Valley. The choir is a registered charity whose principal objective is the performance of music, both sacred and secular, from the renaissance period. To this end we sing at services, particularly in churches where local musical resources are limited, and perform concerts across the region. Antiphon owes its existence to the vision of its founder, Judy Lloyd-Duncan. Her interest in early music is longstanding, and has encompassed membership of such eminent vocal groups as the Taverner Choir, Gothic Voices and the Tallis Scholars. She is still a member of Antiphon. This is open to the public and all are welcome.
