Matins sung by St Bartholomew’s Church Choir, Penn, Wolverhampton
Sunday 4th August
11:30 - 12:30
Description:This service of Choral Matins takes place in the Quire of Wells Cathedral which today is sung by St Bartholomew Penn, a parish church in a leafy suburb of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands with two voluntary choirs. The morning choir is primarily focused on young singers to encourage them in sacred choral music and they contribute to the morning service. The evening choir is a group of singers of all ages and abilities who meet to perform the evensong repertoire that is their passion. They have two very talented organists, Gary Cole who will be playing for the visit to Wells and Paul Carr; and recognise the immense contribution that they make. The choir strive to make evensong a time when the congregation can be still and enjoy the presence of God in their lives. This service is open to the public and all are welcome.
