Choral Evensong sung by St Peter’s Church Choir, Streatham

Description:Choral Evensong is held in the Quire of Wells Cathedral and is sung by St Peter’s Church in Streatham, South London which is blest with a choral tradition dating to the church’s foundation in 1870. The choir sing Parish Mass and Choral Evensong every week and special services and concerts during the year. At Wells Cathedral this year, the choir is represented mainly by the adult members of the choir. A Youth Choir was added in 2015. Recent choir visits have included St Alban’s Cathedral, St Paul’s Cathedral, and a week-long visit to S Mary’s Episcopalian Cathedral in Edinburgh in August 2018. This year the choir will be directed by Philip Collin, former Director of Music. We are very grateful to Philip for stepping in. Will Mason has recently been appointed to the post and will take up his role in September 2019. Organists are Christopher Moore (Monday to Wednesday) and Oliver King (Friday to Sunday). This is open to the public and all are welcome.
