Multi-Faith Discussion - 'Identity and Borders'
Tuesday 5th February
14:00 - 16:00
Description:'Identity, Borders and Faith – where and why we draw lines', with Professor David Thomas (Professor of Christianity and Islam and the Nadir Dinshaw Professor of Interreligious Relations at the University of Birmingham). All welcome to an afternoon of ideas, thought and discussion in the Cathedral Education Room. 2.00-4.00pm. The existence of groups with their own beliefs and principles means there are always ‘insiders’ and ‘outsiders’. How do groups maintain the identity of their ‘insiders’? How do they relate to ‘outsiders’? How does membership of the group relate to citizenship of a country? This is an opportunity to discuss this topical and challenging area with guest speakers opening our exploration. FREE event, with donations invited.
