Thursday 29th August
17:15 - 17:45
Choral Evensong is held in the Quire of Wells Cathedral and today is sung by Cambridge Chorale, a dynamic vocal ensemble committed to performing music at the highest level. Now directed by Owain Park, the choir continues to perform a wide range of repertoire from choral classics such as Handel’s Messiah and Brahms’ Requiem, to lesser known masterpieces by the likes of Frank Martin and Alexander Grechaninov. The choir is equally at home performing challenging contemporary works by composers such as Tarik O’Regan, Eric Whitacre and Ola Gjeilo. The choir recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a performance of Bach's B Minor Mass with Amici Voices and the Academy of Ancient Music. This service is open to the public and all are welcome.
