Sunday 27th October

11:30 - 12:30

This service of Choral Matins is today sung by The Oriana Singers who are based in the Tunbridge Wells area and were founded in 1966 by John Francis. The name 'Oriana' reflects the choir's early specialisation in 16th century English music, in which Queen Elizabeth 1 is often referred to as 'Oriana'. The choir has sung in every medieval Anglican Cathedral in England and each year makes two or three weekend visits to Cathedrals to deputise for the resident choir and in addition makes one-day visits to Cathedrals and to churches in the South-East. The choir is conducted by Caroline Johnson and last visited Wells Cathedral in April 2005. This service is open to the public and all are welcome.
