10:00 - 16:00

The Chapter of Wells is delighted that Wells Cathedral can re-open for visitors from 10am-4pm from Monday-Saturday and 12pm-4pm on Sunday. We are also able to re-start worship in the building - please visit the Public Services page of our website for more information. For centuries Cathedrals have been places of worship, inspiration and reflection, and Wells Cathedral can now resume this vital role.

The present pandemic and the experience of Lockdown have been very painful for so many people. In the Cathedral, there are candles to light, a beautiful space in which to pray and ponder, and gentle pastoral care is available if needed. The beauty of Wells Cathedral is for the healing of hurting hearts and souls. So we are delighted that people may now enter to find the solace and perspective they need.

For those who are unable to visit in person, the Cathedral continues its extensive online programme of worship, music, reflection and pastoral support. In this time of reopening and renewal, Wells Cathedral is here for all.

In parallel with reopening, a special appeal is now being made to raise urgently needed funds to support the Cathedrals continuing mission and care of its heritage. Like so many organisations, the Cathedral faces very real financial challenges at this time. Now more than ever, your support is needed to sustain the Cathedral and all that it does. If you are able to support, please visit our Just Giving appeal page.
