In this time of national lockdown, the Cathedral remainsopen for individual prayer, lighting of candles and quiet reflection. FromThursday 5 November 2020 until Wednesday 2 December 2020 inclusive the revisedopening hours are: 10am - 3:30pm from Monday to Saturday, and 8:00am- 3:30pm on Sunday.

The present pandemic and the experience of the first lockdown have been verypainful for so many people; and many are dreading the impacts of the secondwave of lockdown on home and family life, working life, financial, mental andphysical well-being. In the Cathedral, there are candles to light and abeautiful space in which to pray and ponder. The beauty of Wells Cathedral isfor the healing of hurting hearts and souls so we are glad that it can remainopen for people to enter and to find the solace and perspective theyneed. A quiet welcome awaits.


The Cathedral continues its extensive online programme ofworship, music, reflection and pastoral support. In this time where support isso essential, Wells Cathedral is here for all.

As a consequence of the national lockdown all public worship, tours, concerts, and other events are suspended in Wells Cathedral until Wednesday 2nd December 2020 inclusive. The Café and Shop are closed, but the Cathedral remains open for individual prayer, lighting of candles and quiet reflection. All are welcome.
