Thursday 22nd April

11:00 - 15:45

The Cathedral Nave remains open for individual prayer, lighting of candles and quiet reflection from 11am - 3pm daily.

Your safety is our watchword in preparing the Cathedral. Naturally, there is hand sanitiser easily available, and there are no doors to open or touch. There is a beautifully prepared one-way route to guide you safely around to that space you wish to pick: to sit on the stone benching, to be still, and to be at one with your thoughts. There are candles to light, and you will be in one of the most beautiful cathedral interiors in the country, where countless prayers have been said and loved ones remembered. If you need to talk with someone, you will find a socially distanced and listening ear.

Your spiritual and emotional wellbeing is important and so, if you feel drawn to come in, are free of Covid-19 symptoms and will wear a face covering (unless exempt), you will be most welcome. The beauty of Wells Cathedral is for the healing of hurting hearts and souls so we are glad that it can remain open for people to enter and to find the solace and perspective they need. A quiet welcome awaits.

The Cathedral continues its extensive online programme of worship, music, reflection and pastoral support. In this time where support is so essential, Wells Cathedral is here for all.

Now more than ever, financial help is needed to sustain the Cathedral and all that it does. If you are able to support, please do visit the Just Giving Bounce Back Appeal page.
