Sunday 4th August
15:00 - 16:00
The Choirs of Grace Church, Madison NJ, sing Sundays weekly with a variety of music from traditional Anglican to world music, Renaissance to contemporary. They enjoy numerous collaborative opportunities every year, from joining with a visiting international chorus, singing with a local orchestra, attending RSCM camps, and singing Evensongs and Choir Festivals. Our RSCM program starts for choristers at the age of 7, and we sponsor teen a cappella groups for tenors and basses (The Gargoyles) and sopranos and altos (The Daughters of Zion). Concerts have ranged from Rutter’s Requiem to Handel’s Messiah, the US premiere of Mealor’s Shadows of War, to a family-friendly Halloween Concert. They are joined this week by members of Harmonium Choral Society, a 100-voice auditioned ensemble that has been recognized for its musical excellence and innovative programming. Both groups are directed by Dr. Anne Matlack who holds degrees from Yale University and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, celebrating her 33rdtyear as Organist/Choirmaster at Grace.
