South West Philharmonia and Chorus (SWPC) is abold, inclusive symphonic ensemble based in the South West of England,dedicated to delivering high-quality performances that inspire, challenge, andengage. Founded with the ethos that excellence in music-making should beaccessible to all, SWPC unites amateur and professional musicians from acrossthe region to perform a diverse and ambitious repertoire. The ensemble is knownfor presenting everything from large-scale classical masterworks tocontemporary premieres and rarely heard gems, all while fostering a strongsense of community and collaboration.

At the helm is Conductor and Director Marcus Alleyne, whosepassion, vision and musical leadership have propelled the group to nationalrecognition. Under his direction, SWPC has performed at major cultural events,collaborated with renowned soloists, and championed new works by emerging andestablished composers. Notable highlights include appearances at the Mayflower400 celebrations and specially commissioned performances that reflect theensemble’s commitment to social relevance and artistic innovation.

Beyond the concert platform, SWPC also takes pride in its charitablepartnerships, educational outreach, and regional inclusivity. With a clearmission to break down barriers to participation in the arts, the ensemblecontinues to enrich the cultural life of the South West and beyond.
