Winter Warmers: hot topics for cool minds

Some religious issues won’t go away but go on hotly stirring up questions. In the first weeks of Advent, a short three-week course has been arranged to explore some well-known problems and to try to bring to them cool clarity. Meetings will be held in the Chapter Room on Tuesday evenings between 6:15pm and 7:15pm, each led by a member of the Cathedral clergy:

  • Tuesday 3 December: the Dean on ‘Divine omnipotence and human responsibility’
  • Tuesday 10 December: the Revd Mary Bide on ‘Ethics and biological research. Where are we going?’
  • Tuesday 17 December: the Canon Theologian on ‘Christianity and other faiths. Are they all the same?’

Each session will comprise a short introduction, followed by discussion in small groups and open discussion. Everyone interested is welcome to come, to all or any of the three sessions. No preparation is needed – the only requirement is a cool inquiring mind.
