Public Services

Now more than ever, support is needed to sustain the Cathedral and all that it does. If you’re able to support please visit the Bounce Back Appeal: Wells Cathedral Just Giving page.

From Monday 19th April, Wells Cathedral will be offering the following regular pattern of public worship in the Cathedral:

________________

All are welcome to attend these services:

  • Seating will be socially distanced and all safety measures recommended will be in place (see below for more information)
  • Legally face masks must be worn unless there is a legitimate reason not to
  • A pen will be provided to sign in (for test and trace purposes)

Sunday services

We are delighted to welcome you to a regular schedule of three Sunday services:

8.30am Holy Communion (BCP)
10.30am Cathedral Eucharist
3.00pm Choral Evensong

Weekday worship

Holy Communion will take place in the Nave at 11.30am on Thursdays.

Choral Evensong will be sung by the Cathedral Choir at 5.15pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Evening Prayer will be said at 5.15pm on Wednesday and Friday

The Dean of Wells, The Very Revd Dr John Davies, said:

“The Cathedral has been arranged with a concern for your safety. Now, safely, public worship can resume, and all who wish to come are invited in”.

We will continue to broadcast a Streamed Eucharist via our Facebook page at 10am on Sundays. These can all be watched again after release on the Live-streamed services page.

Wellsprings, the Cathedral’s worship for children, is meeting online at this time. Wellsprings is friendly and relaxed, suiting children between the ages of 0 and 11. If you are interested in joining us this Sunday, please send an email to wellsprings.cathedral@gmail.com.
