Sovereign God, the defence of those who trust in you
And the strength of those who suffer:
Look with mercy on our affliction
And deliver us through our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Keep us, Good Lord.
Under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious;
Be with those who care for the sick;
And lift up all those who are brought low by suffering
That all may find comfort
Knowing that nothing can separate us from your love.
O God our Saviour and our Shepherd
Who brought again your Son Jesus Christ form the valley of death,
Comfort us with you protecting presence
And your angels of goodness and love,
That we also may come home
And dwell with him in your house for ever.
Many of you will be worried about relatives in hospital or grieving for relatives who have died. In normal circumstances families would gather together and comfort each other, but sadly that is not possible at the moment. If you would like the Cathedral clergy to pray for someone please email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are in distress, angry or feeling very alone and would like to talk to someone, please include your name and phone number and a member of the Cathedral clergy will call you.
