Chained Library Tours

The Chained Library at Wells Cathedral houses some 2,800 books, all published before 1800. These were collected by the canons in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries and reflects their wide-ranging intellectual interests. Chained Library Tours comprise a brief talk on the history of the library, followed by a chance to examine a selection of books whose significance is described.

Refunds Policy

Concert Tickets – full payment is due on booking. Please note that all ticket sales are non-refundable.

High Parts Tour and Chained Library Tour Tickets – full payment is required at the time of booking. Please note that all ticket sales are non-refundable.

Wells Cathedral Cancellation Policy

All booked groups that hold an Account with the Cathedral will need to give Visits (visits@wellscathedral.uk.net) notification of any cancellations at least 7 days prior to the visit.

Failure to notify within this time frame will invoke a penalty of £3.00 per booked guest.
