Sunday 14th July

15:00 - 16:00

Choral Evensong is held in the Quire of Wells Cathedral and today will also feature speaker Norman Doe who will speak about his 'Hero of Faith' Richard Hooker, one of the founding geniuses of Anglicanism. We also welcome the Choir of Christ & St Luke's, Norfolk, USA, one of the most highly regarded church choirs in the region. Though the choir is largely volunteer, most of its members have had extensive training or experience as choral and solo singers, many on the professional level. Its repertoire extends from medieval chant to 21st century anthems and motets. Beyond Virginia, the Choir has sung in New York City (2004 and 2015), Washington, D.C. (2018) and had several residencies at British Cathedrals, including Norwich Cathedral and Gloucester Cathedral in 2016. This is the choir's fifth European tour, and besides Wells Cathedral, the Choir will sing at St. Martin in the Fields, London, the American Cathedral in Paris, and St. Eustache Church in Paris. This service is open to the public and all are welcome.
