Remembrance with Wells Cathedral

Remembrance 2026

Join us this November as we remember those who have given their lives in service, honour the sacrifices made in times of conflict, and pray for a more peaceful world. Through worship, music and acts of remembrance, we invite all to pause, reflect and give thanks alongside our community.

Cathedral Eucharist and Act of Remembrance

Remembrance Sunday, 8 November 2026, 10.30am

Gather with us as we remember those who have died in war and conflict, give thanks for their sacrifice, and pray for peace.

Our Act of Remembrance forms part of the regular Cathedral Eucharist service, before we process to the Harry Patch Memorial outside the Wells & Mendip Museum to join the wider community in remembrance.

Fauré Requiem

Remembrance Sunday, 8 November 2026, 3.00pm

On the afternoon of Remembrance Sunday, Wells Cathedral Choir give a devotional performance of Gabriel Fauré’s beautiful and moving Requiem.

Framed by prayers and reflection, this special service offers an opportunity to remember those who have died in war and conflict, and to pray for peace. The service concludes with the Cathedral’s traditional poppy drop.

Admission free: a retiring collection will be taken in aid of The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and Wells Cathedral
