Wells Cathedral is a Church of England Cathedral committed to promoting unity within the wider Christian community. The Cathedral has a close relationship with Churches Together in Somerset (CTS) which works within the Anglican Diocese of Bath and Wells to promote inter-denominational unity.
The Cathedral is committed to supporting community groups which serve people facing challenging circumstances:
St Margaret’s Hospice helps patients, families, and carers across Somerset who are faced with life-limiting illness.
Elim Connect Centre in Wells aims to serve the social, physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional needs of the local community in an accessible way.
Wells Cathedral is also part of the Safe Places Scheme.
Operated by Avon & Somerset Constabulary, the scheme helps vulnerable people with communication difficulties stay safe when they are out and about.
‘The ‘Week’s Good Cause’ Donation Point (usually found in the North Quire Aisle) also provides a dedicated space for Somerset organisations to raise awareness of the group’s aims and raise funds for their work.
