Regular bus services to and from Wells operate from Bath (173/174), Bristol (Mendip Xplorer, 376) and Shepton Mallet (174).
From M5 North – take M4, M32, A37, A39
From M5 South – leave at Junction 23 and take A39
From South East – take A303, A36, A361, A371
Driving time from Bath and Bristol is approximately 40 minutes.

The Coach Park is located in Princes Road, a Pay and Display long stay car park. Signage is plentiful from whichever direction you enter Wells. Plan your journey with Trainline.
If you have passengers who are less mobile, there is a setting down point on Sadler Street, 100 yards from the Cathedral. Signs to the setting down point are also plentiful from whichever direction you enter the city. Please note that the setting down point is time limited and only for setting down and picking up. After dropping off, please follow the signs to the Coach Park in Princes Road.

The nearest train station to Wells is Castle Cary, from which there are direct services to London Paddington and the West Country. The station is approximately 13 miles from Wells, with a journey time of just over 25 minutes. Taxis are available at Castle Cary train station.
Other regular train services to and from London (Paddington/Waterloo) and the West Country operate from Bristol Temple Meads, Bath Spa and Templecombe stations. There are frequent connecting bus services from Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa stations to Wells.
Bristol International Airport (c. 17 miles)
Take the A1 Bristol Flyer bus from the airport to Bristol Bus and Coach Station. The bus is a 24/7 service, leaving the airport approximately every 20 minutes during the day. The journey takes around 40 minutes.From there, transfer on to the 376 Mendip Xplorer (Bay 18) to Street via Wells (adult single ~£2.00). The service is fairly regular (approximately 1 bus per hour) between 7.00 a.m. and midnight.
Heathrow Airport (c. 110 miles)
As with other public transport, find your way to Bristol either by coach (there is a direct National Express from Heathrow 9 times per day) or train. Transfer on to the 376 Mendip Xplorer from Bristol Bus and Coach Station (Bay 18) or Bristol Temple Meads (Temple Gate, T1) to Street via Wells.
