Opus4 is a Wells-based recorder quartet whose musicians come from Somerset, Bristol and Gloucestershire. They formed in 2022 and perform an eclectic repertoire spanning seven centuries of music played on recorders, gemshorns and bamboo pipes. The programme for this concert begins with a medieval Cantiga, ends with a Tango; and includes the first performance of a piece for gemshorns which is quite probably the first new music written for this instrument in 500 years.
