Tuesday 19th August
17:15 - 18:15
The Universities in London Church Choir (directed by Sally Martin-Brown) was founded as a charity in 1992 after the closure of the University of London chaplaincy Church of Christ the King, by former members of the choir at that time. It has continued to thrive for nearly three decades, and sings by invitation for churches that have no choir or where the choir is away. As well as singing the well-known liturgical settings, they like to promote new compositions by new male and female church composers and encourage, through playing opportunities, upcoming organists. There are now many members worldwide most of whom were under or post-graduates, medical students, or researchers at one of the Universities making up the University of London and now also adding those associated with other universities in London, sharing a common interest and faith in singing Anglican Church music.
