Sunday 31st August

10:30 - 11:45

The choir was formed in about 2000 by the late Ralph Franklin, and is an amalgam from members of choirs he directed during his time as Director of Music at St Neot’s Parish Church, Howden Minster, St Paul’s Church, Bedford, All Saints Wokingham, and Dunster Parish Church. We have sung at a dozen or so Cathedrals or Abbeys. After Ralph’s unexpected death in July 2012, it was decided to continue singing, and one of the basses, Gary Mudd (who is also an experienced choir director) took over as MD. Our organist is Andrew Christer, who was organist at Darlington Parish Church (the “Railwayman’s church”). One of Ralph’s particular “forte’s” was in preparing us for singing the Psalms, and we pride ourselves on that aspect of our singing. If the Cathedral or place of worship is in agreement, we often sing the music of a Bedfordshire composer, Paul Edwards.
