3 February to 1 March 2026, Wells Cathedral Cloisters
A Celebration of Demonstration is a photography exhibition exploring Black Lives Matter protests in London and Somerset that took place during the covid-19 pandemic. The exhibition is brought to us by Wayne Campbell, a London-based visual activist, award-winning designer, filmmaker, and critically acclaimed photographer. The exhibition also features work by renowned Somerset based photographers Jason Bryant and Len Copland.
Access to the exhibition is included with admission to Wells Cathedral.

Preview the A Celebration of Demonstration exhibition and join us for talks exploring racial injustice, resistance and finding ways to repair — featuring Wayne Campbell, visual activist and creator of the photographic exhibition, and Richard Reddie, Director of Justice and Inclusion for Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Join us for a special service of the Cathedral Eucharist to mark Racial Justice Sunday, with guest preacher The Reverend Sonia Barron, former Co-chair of the Church of England’s Anti-Racism Taskforce.

Wednesday 25 February 2026, 7pm–9pm (Doors open from 6.30pm to view the exhibition), Wells Cathedral Education Room
Join us for an evening exploring the legacy of Transatlantic Slavery and examples of reparative action in both the UK and the Caribbean.
The event includes a Q&A and talks, notably “From Shame to Taking Action on Reparative Justice” by John Dower, Reparations Campaigner and Cofounder of Heirs of Slavery. Doors open at 6.30pm for an opportunity to view the Celebration of Demonstration exhibition.
