On Saturday 26 September 2026, Wells Cathedral will be hosting its celebrated Cider and Cheese Festival. The festival offers a chance for people to come together from across the county and beyond to celebrate what makes the South West unique, whilst raising a glass and important funds to support the Cathedral.
The festival will take place inside the Cathedral and will offer ticket holders the chance to sip some of the South West’s finest Ciders and taste some sumptuous cheese and produce, in a truly awe-inspiring setting.

Wells Cathedral
Dating from the late 12th century, Wells Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of Bath and Wells and is a masterpiece of English Gothic architecture, renowned for its historical significance. Located at the southern tip of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and described as the “most poetic” of the English Cathedrals, Wells Cathedral is a world-class centre of heritage, worship, music and creativity and welcomes visitors from across Somerset and beyond all year round.

- Receives no regular funding from the government and limited funding from the Church of England.
- Relies on income from admissions, donations, events and sponsorship to preserve this incredible part of Somerset’s heritage for future generations and keep it open and here for everyone.
