A conversation exploring the ongoing meaning, use, and relevance of the Nicene Creed, with Professor Morwenna Ludlow and The Reverend Dr Mark Smith.

This talk takes place in the Education Room, and follows the 10.30am Cathedral Eucharist. Admission is included with entry to the Cathedral: no booking required.

About the speakers:

Mark Smith is Dean & Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge. Mark is also an Affiliated Lecturer at the Faculty of Divinity in Cambridge, where he teaches early church history. He has a particular interest in the reception of Nicaea, for instance in his book, The Idea of Nicaea, (OUP 2018). Mark also serves on the Church of England's General Synod and the Council for Christian Unity and is part of the Anglican ecumenical dialogue with the Assyrian Church of the East.

Professor Morwenna Ludlow is a published historian, theologian and priest, specialising in historical theology. She is Professor of Christian Theology at the University of Exeter, and as Canon Theologian, regularly presides and preaches at services in Exeter Cathedral.
