The Cathedral Choir rounds off this year’s festival with a celebratory service of Choral Evensong, during which the Cathedral also gives thanks to The Venerable Anne Gell for her ministry as Archdeacon of Wells.
The service includes Charles Wood’s canticles in F, Collegium Regale, and Matthew Martin’s anthem Sing we merrily unto God our strength, commissioned for the Cathedral Choir in 2025 and performed live on BBC Radio 3 in October that year.
Following Evensong, this year’s Sound of Wells Festival concludes with a peal from the magnificent Cathedral bells.
