Millfield’s annual Wells Cathedral Concert featuring choirs, orchestra and scholars, inspired by Space Week. Free entry, ticket required.

This year’s performance takes inspiration from Millfield’s Space Week, bringing themes of exploration, creativity and imagination into a vibrant evening of live music presented by our choirs, orchestra, and professional musicians.

For over twenty years, Millfield has performed major choral and orchestral works in the inspiring setting of Wells Cathedral, bringing together Millfield Community Choir, Millfield Singers, Millfield Symphony Orchestra and a distinguished ensemble of professional musicians.

This year’s programme highlights the work of Upper Sixth Music Scholars Ivan (flute) and Jack (piano), who appear as soloists in our concert, and is structured in two parts:

First Half

• Concertino for Flute — Chaminade

• Selected orchestral works by Holst and Dvorak

• Piano Concerto No. 2, 3rd Movement — Rachmaninoff

Second Half

• The Creation (extracts) —Haydn

Admission is free, but ticketing is essential due to limited capacity. All seating inside the cathedral is unreserved, and places are offered on a first?come, first?served basis. Audience members are kindly encouraged to reserve a ticket in advance and arrive in good time.
