Originating in 1989 from a group of singers led by composer Antony le Fleming, Exeter Chamber Choir was formed in 1997. With a full complement of around 40 auditioned singers drawn from across Devon, it recently celebrated 20 years under the leadership of its current director, Andrew Daldorph. The choir performs six to eight concerts a year at venues across the southwest, including Exeter Cathedral and Buckfast Abbey. Its repertoire is wide-ranging and includes recent performances of Bach, Handel, Howells, and Kodaly, as well as music by current composers including James Macmillan, Kerensa Briggs, Lucy Walker, and Andrew Daldorph. It is a privilege to return to Wells to sing Evensong, our third visit to this beautiful place of worship.
