Experience life as a Chorister and join the ranks of Wells Cathedral Choir!
This Autumn, we’re inviting children to our annual Be a Chorister for a Day event, which takes place on Saturday 20 September 2025. This free event is open to all children aged 6–9, and offers a unique chance to experience life as a Cathedral Chorister. Children enjoy fun singing workshops and finish the day by singing Evensong alongside the Cathedral Choir in the stunning Cathedral setting. Wells Cathedral Choir has been singing daily services for more than 1100 years. It offers a world-class musical education and life-changing opportunities for young singers. We currently have vacancies for Boy Choristers, and welcome enquiries from parents of boys with musical promise and a love of singing. KS1 and Ks2 Opportunities
If you know a child aged 4 to 11 who loves singing, please be in touch! For children aged 7 to 11 we have Wells Cathedral Song Squad. For those aged 4 to 6 there is Wells Cathedral Song Squad Minis. This training choir for the well-established Song Squad gives younger children the opportunity to sing to a high standard and perform on their own and alongside Song Squad. Both choirs are great fun, open to all who attend any school, and there is no need to audition – children just need to enjoy singing. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 4.45 – 5.15pm for the Minis and from 5.15 – 6.15pm for Song Squad during term time. KS3 and KS4 Opportunities
Have you heard about Wells Cathedral Youth Choir? Launched in 2024, this free and welcoming choir is open to anyone aged 11–18 who enjoys singing. No audition or experience needed—just bring your voice! WCYC Meets on Wednesdays during term time, 6.15–7.30pm.
