As the academic year draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect with gratitude on the journey shared by our Cathedral Choir.
Serve the Lord with gladness, and come before his presence with a song (Psalm 100)
This year, like so many before it, has been filled with beautiful music, moments of joy and reverence, and the tireless dedication of those who help to uphold the fantastic choral tradition at Wells.
We would particularly like to thank those who are leaving the Cathedral Music Foundation at the end of the academic year, or who have departed during the course of it: Choristers Michael, Thomas, Thomas, Stanley, Zino, Anabelle, Bea, Emilia, Freya, and Eloise; and Vicar Choral Alex.
We are deeply grateful to them for their commitment, dedication, hard work, and marvellous music making, and are very grateful to them and their families for all that they have given to the Choir and Cathedral. We wish them all the best of luck for the future!
Please do join us for the final service of the Cathedral Choir’s year – Choral Evensong in the Nave at 5.15 p.m. on Friday 4 July. Attendees can look forward to hearing some of the Choir’s favourite repertoire and supporting our musicians, particularly as we say farewell to some of our longest-serving Choristers.
But don’t despair! On Saturday 6 September at 5.15 p.m., you can join us for Choral Evensong to mark the start of the new Choir Year.
