Act of Remembrance

On Armistice Day there will be a short Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in the North Transept at 11.00 a.m. These gatherings have grown markedly in recent years.

Remembrance Sunday Eucharist
Sunday 12 November 2023, 10.30 a.m.
An Act of Remembrance at 11.00 a.m. will be woven into the Cathedral Eucharist starting at 10.30 a.m., with music by Elgar, Howells, and James MacMillan.

Duruflé Requiem
Sunday 12 November 2023, 3.00 p.m.
The Cathedral Choir will join ranks with the Wells Cathedral School Chapel Choir to offer a devotional performance of Duruflé’s Requiem, interspersed with readings, and with the now familiar and much appreciated ‘Poppy drop’. Admission: free; retiring collection in aid of the Poppy Appeal and Wells Cathedral.
