Taste the best of West Country at the first ever Wells Cathedral Cider & Cheese Festival – a curated tasting journey for cider lovers, cheese connoisseurs, and anyone passionate about locally-crafted produce.

Exceptional ciders

Meet local cider makers and sample offerings including Bray’s, Burrow Hill, Dowding’s, Glastonbury Abbey, Harry’s, Honey’s, Porlock, Rich’s, Sandford Orchards, Sheppy’s, Thatchers, Tricky, Jacks and Wilkins.

Beyond the orchard

Expand your tasting adventure Wells Cathedral’s own Dean Turner’s Gin plus artisan gins from Still Sisters, as well as wines from Canned Wine Co., and creative mocktails and alcohol-free mixes from Wise Bartender.

Artisan cheese makers

Cheese connoisseurs can indulge in West Country specialties including artisan produce from Barber’s, The Bath Soft Cheese Company, Glastonbury Cheeses, Lye Cross Farm, The Newt in Somerset and Wookey Hole Cheddar.

Live music in an iconic venue

Alongside the food and drink tasting, there’s a guaranteed great atmosphere in the awe-inspiring nave of Wells Cathedral, with a fun-filled programme of live music from Somerset-based performers including The Mangledwurzels, PRP Contemporary Voices, and Jukebox Banned.

Tickets cost £17.50 for adults, £12.50 for under 18s, and children under 3 come in for free. Price includes:

  • Admission into Wells Cathedral (normally £15)
  • Live music
  • Two half-pint drink tokens
  • Event programme booklet with tasting notes
  • Commemorative glass to take home.
